I shoot a wide variety of subjects. My interests mostly are nature, urban decay, florals, portraits and urban street photography. Lately I have been mainly influenced by women making their mark as photographers. I am a fan of Jennifer Thoreson, Lindsay Adler and Brook Shaden to mention just a few. Their story telling and being able to relate to their subjects are key for me when I envision and image.
I am inspired to capture the essence of my subjects. My goal is to animate it’s character by bringing it to life and evoke the passage of time.
My work often features multiple exposures, motion blur, intentional camera movement, and slow shutter speeds.
I love shooting with lensbaby optics such as the velvet 56, twist optic and edge 80 optic are some of my favorites.
In post processing I sometimes use texture overlays, skin smoothing and the warping of the lines of a dress to enhance the aesthetics of the subject matter.
This quote expresses it best for me
“Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
